The Artist Messenger: Clairvoyance Made Visible
Victorian Era Dresser
BEFORE--- I loved the curling front, the age and the character of this piece. I wanted to keep the bumps, gouges and dings that it had gained over the years.
Look at those gorgeous bumps and dings!
Unfortunately, the key had been lost years ago. I think I captured an "orb" in the upper middle area :)
I'm so glad to see that dark, drab ugly mud ochre color gone.
So, when I repainted it, I used a white base with a green wash and then a dry brush technique over that base coat.
The paint grabbed hold of the texture of the years of wear and tear and shows it off nicely.
I'm thinking about painting ornate flowers, possibly art noveau style here somewhere.
