Ok, so new NEWS.

First on the news bit is the art show is March 14, from 5 to 7 is the art show The Artist Messenger: Clairvoyance Made Visible in which will have 8 new paintings, some years in the making.

I don't know what to show you.... a new piece of art or the artist statement about the art? What would make you more curious to go see? OK, I'll try a preview of one of each down below.

Now for the BIG news: Since Linda Hill's life is merging with Larry Kantzer's, her art and his art will be merging into L&L (Larry and Linda) Creations! How exciting is that?! Two passionate artists sharing lives, inspiration and themselves, what could be better? You know we're going to be fun and weird and I can't wait to see what we both come up with, together.

The changes include rustic furniture, bird houses, whimsical garden and fence decor, and all things imagined and yet to be brought to life by this creative powerhouse man. I cannot wait :)
This also means Hill Artistry will be offering all the same stuff (including facepainting, too), probably much more of it, on our new website as soon as its available.
If you're curious what this painting looks like that goes with this artist statement below, visit with us March 14 from 5 to 7 pm
at A Guilded Gallery in Stanwood!

Artist's Statement for Guardian of the Wild (2009-2015)
Acrylic/Mixed Media
by Linda Hill and Larry Kantzer
I believe art is about possibilities and just because “that’s not how something is done” doesn't mean that “it” shouldn't. I view the sometimes naive, intuitive and natural state of artists as wild, beautiful flowering weeds before technical adulteration hinders their beloved spark of creativity, the space where anything is possible.

This painting is about a group of highly creative young artists who had been discouraged and criticized by technical purists. The criticism hurt because the critics had respectable positions of power and the potential for encouragement in the art field of their area.

The situation inspired the poem and my imagination to create a Guardian of the Wild, to take the new artists under her branch and support their growth and strength in spite of whomever will attempt to hinder this beloved spark.

My artist soul mate and fellow seeker of possibilities, Larry Kantzer, shrugged off all “shoulds” to make this beautiful frame in which our Guardian exists.

"Behind the Scenes at the Tulip Festival" I apologize for the glare, a better picture is coming up, but you have to see this in person to enjoy the color changing pigments. These party-people holding up the tulips we in the upper NW enjoy are living it up. Bet you always wondered how we got them to bloom all at the same time, didn't you? Now you know.
